Using Babysense V

Simple configuration, safe and effective

Babysense V infant movement monitor includes two sensor panels which fit under the baby's mattress.  Monitoring is performed without touching the baby.  The sensors are connected to a small, battery operated control unit clipped to the side of baby's bed, crib or cradle.  There is no connection to any electrical outlet.

A low-battery indicator lights when batteries need to be replaced.  The battery life is approximately six months.

BabySense V – So easy to use.

  • Simply place one or two sensors (according to the baby's age) under the crib mattress.
  • Sensors monitor entire crib area.
  • Sensors do not touch the baby.
  • Babysense V operates on regular household batteries –no electrical plugs
    (no connection to mains).
  • Compact, attractive, easy to use design with single switch operation.
  • If baby stops moving for 20 seconds, Babysense V sounds an alarm.
  • If baby's movements slow to less than 10 micro-movements a minute, Babysense V sounds an alarm.

BabySense V Infant Movement Monitor –
Practical Guidelines for Use

Installation for Newborn Babies

Babies under the age of 3 months do not move from place to place while sleeping.  Most babies in this age range weigh less than 7 kilo.    USE ONLY ONE SENSOR PAD without the connecting cable in order to ensure greater relative sensitivity.

Babies Three Months of Age & Up

Babies begin to crawl and become more mobile at the age of 3 months.  Now is the time to ADD THE SECOND Babysense V SENSOR PAD attaching the two pads with the “connecting cable” supplied.  As the baby moves about in his or her crib, the two sensor pads will ensure that all of the baby's movements are monitored.

Babysense V is not a medical device.  Premature and high-risk infants must be under supervision of a doctor or health professional.
